He won't lose her again...

Delta Operative Heath "Woof" Davis has spent years living on the edge. Protecting a State Department official is just another assignment until he discovers that Eleanor Bonham is Nori Duncan, the one that got away. He can protect her from enemy forces in the Republic of Kazarus, but can he defend his heart from the woman who used to be his everything?

She's not going to fall for a soldier boy...

High school was a long time ago, and Eleanor is no longer the heartbroken girl who ended things with Heath. She doesn't have time for love, not if she's going to rise in the ranks at State Department. But Heath is even more handsome than he was back then, and his years in the military have honed him into a man completely unlike the boy she once knew. With his sights set on her, how can she resist?

The mission in Kazarus is as important as it is dangerous. Eleanor and Heath will need to rely on one another if they are going to see the mission through. But will they be able to overcome past pain for the hope of a future?

** Nori's Delta is the 1st book in the Delta Team Three Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

** Operation Alpha is a fan-fiction world for Susan Stoker's novels. The characters in this series were introduced in Stoker's Delta Team Two series, specifically, book two, Shielding Kinley. You don't have to read that book to be engrossed in this series, but why wouldn't you want to? Enjoy!

  • Promising Start

Heath hasn’t seen Nori since that terrible incident senior year of high school. They’d been almost inseparable until then. Fifteen years later he finds himself assigned to her protection team as she works negotiations with a possible middle eastern ally. He also finds old feelings resurfacing in the middle of trying to find the leak that keeps putting the negotiations and Nori in danger. This was a promising foray into the Susan Stoker inspired delta-verse.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. First let me just say that this story practically opened with a bang. The author did a fabulous job in keeping me glued to my e-reader. The second chance at a first love was wonderfully written. The plot flowed beautifully. Little nuggets of the characters’ history was just enough that it kept me intrigued along with the other mystery and intrigue of the plot. Eleanor works for the State Department. She is on a mission to broker a deal of major proportion. After landing at her destination though, she was almost kidnapped! Her self-defense training kicks in and she manages to get away. Arriving at the scene comes the Delta team, headed up by Woof (Heath Davis), her first love. They manage to get her safely away but more and more danger just keeps coming around the corner. The major questions of who, what and why really kept me frantically reading. The attraction between these two characters was enough to combust my e-reader. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story in the dual POV format. It really captured the connection that these two still had. This is a sexy read without being erotica. I would highly recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18.

The story between Heath and Nori was fantastic . I could feel the strong connection between the two . Between Nori’s job with the state and being guarded by Delta team 3 in a land rife with unrest didn’t know what would happen next stayed up all night reading this book and recommend it to everyone.
  • Suspenseful romantic mystery, Couldn’t put it down

    By Miche426
Merlin passed a heavily encased tablet around the group. “We’re heading in to grab Eleanor Bonham at the Adana airport in Turkey. The Associate Counselor for the US Department Of State. We’re going to escort her into the Republic of Kazarus for a covert meeting with Onur Demir.” Wolf looked down at the tablet and lost his breath. He looked at a woman with a serious face gazing back at him with challenge and determination in her eyes. He knew those eyes. There was a time when he could bring her to smile and he reveled in doing just that. But that was a long time ago when they were innocent and thought that nothing could touch them. So damned naive. She’d been Eleanor Duncan when he knew her fifteen years ago. It should mean nothing that she’d gotten married. But it was like a kick in the gut. Eleanor is not the same heartbroken girl who ended things with Heath. She didn’t have time for Love, if she’s going to rise in the ranks of the state department. And Heath is even more handsome and his years in the military have honed him into the man, completely unlike the boy she once knew. This is The Very Basic Beginning to a wonderfully romantic suspenseful story I just could not put down.

  • Woof & Nori

    By Agent$$$$
Eleanor Bonham, a State Department official, is sent to The Republic of Kazarus in hopes to persuade the leader to release a group of kidnapped, American doctors and nurses. It’s an “unofficial” visit, but important as the talks could help to put a stop to the funneling of weapons to ISIS. As Kazarus is in a state of unrest, security is provided to her team. “Woof” Davis, member of Delta Force Team 3, is not looking forward to providing security to a State official and her team. He figures it’ll be easy compared to some of their other jobs. That is, until he and his team thwart a kidnapping attempt of said official—aka, ‘the one that got away’. Although Woof knows he is NOT a forever kind of guy, old feeling resurface and have Woof doubting his beliefs. This is a wonderful start to the series. While I enjoyed the story itself, I was extremely frustrated with Woof in the end. When Nori sends him away due to her misguided beliefs, UGH!!! His teammates were cute and adorable in their attempts to get Woof and Nori back together! It was hilarious to see big, Alpha men go to Nori on behalf of Woof. Although each book in the series is a stand-alone, you need to read this one first as it lays the ground work for book five. This is a second chance, suspenseful romance novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
  • Second chance love

I haven't spent much time in Susan Stoker's world, so I was really looking forward to this book. It's built on character's in Ms Stoker's world, but written by an author outside of her world. Ms Ryan is a new author to me and I'm going to be picking up her upcoming security forces book that is mentioned in this book. With that being said, I have mixed emotions about this book. Well, not the book, but the characters in the book. I love the Delta team members. But I don't know how I feel about Demir. In some ways I like him because he's trying to make his country better for his people. He appears to be very family driven too. But to just point blank shoot someone because of something out of their control bothered me. I'm hoping we see more of him in future books. I don't know how their story will continue to unfold given they are in two different states, but I'm hopeful they will have a good life with Bruno. Nori and Woof deserve all the happiness.
  • Action packed

Nori’s Delta ( Special Forces:Operation Alpha):Delta Team 3, Book One Lori Ryan What a way to start off a new series! Action through and through. Surprised snitch. Strong Delta Team supportingtheir high profile assignments and each other. Possible second chance for Heath and Nori if they can only communicate and listen to each other. One of those can’t put it down to the end.
  • Super exciting

What a wonderful first book for Delta Team Three. This is also the first book I’ve read of Lori Ryan. Definitely will read more of her books. Nori’s Delta is an awesome story about first love and first heartbreak and a beautiful HEA. Heath Davis is a Delta that joined the Army trying to forget his first love Eleanor or Nori. He loved her from the moment he first saw her. But for some reason she didn’t think he did so she married his twin brother. Over the years they were separated Heath’s brother, Nori’s husband dies in Afghanistan. Heath and Nori meet up again on a mission where he is her protector when she has to meet with a foreign government leader that turns out to be very dangerous. I loved this book. Can’t wait for the next one.
